Last Thursday, we got our notice from Citizenship and Immigration Services that it was time to get fingerprinted so that our application would be complete. Fortunately Brian's schedule was flexible on Friday, so we were able to complete this step the very next day. As we had heard several horror stories of fingerprinting being a long and tedious process (taking as much as 3 hours), we prepared ourselves to be patient and make the most of the experience. We arrived at the CIS office in Durham, and after a few quick pieces of paperwork and procedures, it was our turn to be fingerprinted. I stood in amazement as the official fingerprinted me using technology that reminded me of a computer and scanner. There was no paper and no ink. The evidence is below as Brian and I are leaving the office after being fingerprinted, and our fingers are sparkling clean!

Fingerprints with no messy fingers in less than 30 minutes...not a bad deal at all!
