Pieces of the Puzzle

Sometimes it seems that on our adoption journey, we are endlessly picking up pieces of information that are each like a piece of a puzzle.  With each piece of information, we have a little clearer picture of our growing family.

What we know so far:
  • Baby girl is growing!
  • It is totally possible to get lost in her big, beautiful eyes!
  • We have gotten results from her 2nd round of medical testing.  Everything seems to be in good shape, and we are in the process of consulting with a doctor to answer a couple of questions.
  • Once we receive the final details of the 2nd medicals, we will be assigned a court date.
  • Our first trip for court will likely last about a week.
What we are wondering:
  • What makes Baby Girl smile?!
  • When will we travel for court?
  • When will we be able to bring our sweet girl home and be together as a family forever?
  • Is there a special caregiver who loves a little extra on our little girl?
It is part of our human nature to want to know more (especially for the planner in me), and it is easy to feel like I am just waiting for the next piece of information.  However, an adoption buddy, April recently wrote a post about waiting that really spoke to me.  She made the point that she is waiting for God, not a referral.  So rather than waiting for the next piece of the puzzle, and the next step in the process, I take comfort knowing that, really, I am waiting for God.  Peace!

  1. I'm so excited for you and this precious little girl that God has picked out for you! Praying that you get word quickly about her medicals and the court date... And praying for her until she is safe in your arms too!
