11 Months Old!

Today our little one is 11 months old! We are so happy that we have her home with us, and we are learning new things about her all the time. In honor of our special little girl, here are 11 things, in no particular order, that we know about Mikayla Tamir:

1. She LOVES to eat. Seriously, we haven’t found anything YET that this sweet little one won’t eat. In the last week her pincer grip has really developed and she actually gets food into her mouth on her own!

2.       She is a cuddle bug…especially after she wakes up.  She will look at us, grin, and then burrow her head in our chest.  Melt my heart.
3.       She has the most kissable cheeks ever.  How can you look at them and not want to kiss them?
4.       She is pulling up on many things and doing a super-cute army crawl.   This is amazing to us because at 9 months old, she still was not sitting up on her own!

5. She loves to take baths. I think she would stay in the tub and splash for hours if we would let her.

6. Her current favorite toys are her stacking cups and anything that isn’t really designed to be a toy (tupperware, tubes of lotion, tubs, etc). The rattles and keys from our first trip to Ethiopia are SO last month.

7. She shows no signs of fear around our two dogs. She giggles at them and tries to pull their fur. As for the dogs, Mattie doesn’t seem to care much about her, but Oliver is extremely curious and HATES it when she cries.

8. She is 20.5 lbs and 28 inches. She is still wearing some 6-9 month pants, but everything else is pretty much 12 months.

9. She has a giggle that is contagious. It is one of the most amazing sounds ever!

10. She is jabbering up a storm. She talks and squeals constantly. She was so quiet when we first met her, but she has really warmed up to us.

11. She is a total Daddy’s girl. I’ve never seen a child crawl so fast to get somewhere as she does when her Daddy comes home from work. Can’t say that I blame her though-I’m her Daddy’s girl too!

There are so many more things I could share about Mikayla and all that we are learning about her.  What a fun way to remember her at this age...perhaps there will be a part 2!
